Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA)—Has announced the following 2011 awards recipients: Dr. Morris Chang Exemplary Leadership Award—Dr. Henry Samueli, Broadcom Corp.; Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Achieving $500 Million to $10 Billion in Annual Sales—Broadcom Corp.; Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Achieving $10 Billion or Greater in Annual Sales—Intel Corp.; Most Respected Emerging Public Company—NetLogic Microsystems; Most Respected Private Company—Ambarella; Best Financially Managed Company—Ambarella; Outstanding Revenue Growth by a Private Semiconductor Company—SandForce and Silicon Mitus; Start-Up to Watch—Amalfi Semiconductor; Outstanding APAC Semiconductor Company—Global Unichip Corp.; Outstanding EMEA Semiconductor Company—Dialog Semiconductor; and Favorite Analyst Semiconductor Company—Qualcomm (chosen by Barclays Capital), Cavium (chosen by Morgan Stanley), and Broadcom Corp. (awarded by Needham & Co.).
AVX Corp.—Has received the 2011 Top Passive Supplier Award from Avnet. This award honors AVX as a leading supplier of interconnect, passive, and electromechanical components to the Asian market. Rohde & Schwarz—Has ended the past fiscal year (July 2010 through June 2011) with a revenue of EUR 1.58 billion. This represents a 25% increase over last year’s level of EUR 1.26 billion (July 2009 through June 2010). The company also posted record numbers in workforce size and worldwide investments. TriQuint—Has been recognized by Raytheon Co. for exceptional performance in supporting its Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business during 2011. TriQuint was honored by Raytheon for the fourth consecutive year at the company’s 2011 SAS Supplier Excellence Award (SEA) recognition event. RFMD—Has received the 2011 Best Supplier Award from Lenovo Mobile Internet and Digital Home Business Group (MIDH). RFMD currently has more than 10 products in volume production in support of Lenovo MIDH. Blu Wireless Technology—Is one of five new technology businesses to win Cambridge Wireless’ Discovering Start-Ups 2011 competition. The company was recognized for its low-power, 60-GHz semiconductor technology. EB—The company’s Specialized Device Platform has been chosen as Technology of the Year by the Wireless Innovation Forum Awards. This award is given for a breakthrough product or technology in the field of software-defined or cognitive radio. Aeroflex—Has been granted non-council membership status to the TD Industry Alliance (TDIA). The trade group promotes mobile-communications enterprises based on the TD-SCDMA and TD-LTE standards.
